Recipes: setting up a Linux development workstation

/docs/other/developer-workstation/

You need a Linux workstation to develop for UBOS. Most Linux distros should work.

The Linux workstation may be a physical computer, or it can be a virtual machine.

Here is a collection of recipes how to set up various Linux systems that can be used for UBOS development. You can certainly use a Linux system you have already, use your own setup instead, or use a pre-built image.

Once you have your Linux development system running, continue with UBOS Gears developer setup.

Note

There is no particular reason why the development workstation has to be Arch Linux, it’s just what we do, and so we have more documentation for it.
